Year 8’s local history project

Year 8’s study of the Industrial Revolution this term culminated in the pupils creating and presenting a local history  project based on how our area changed during this period. They were given the task of independently researching how the Industrial Revolution started in the Black Country and how it changed areas such as work, population, public health, leisure and transport. Pupils chose to present their research in variety of ways including video animation, models, interactive posters and documentaries. The effort each pupil put into their project should be commended with special credit given to Rory Shields who took on the role of Matthew Boulton and created an impressive documentary detailing how the local industrialist developed manufacturing in Birmingham.
