Welcome to Hydesville Tower School

Hydesville Tower School is a thriving independent school for children aged 2–16, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to achieve their personal best. We believe education is about nurturing every aspect of a child, developing not only academic success but also confidence, character, creativity and wellbeing.

Academic excellence is at the heart of everything we do. Through exceptional teaching, outstanding pastoral care and a personalised approach to learning, we support and challenge pupils of all abilities to discover their strengths, fulfil their potential and develop a lifelong love of learning. From our exceptional Early Years provision, 11+ training, through to excellent GCSE outcomes, every stage of a child's education is carefully designed to inspire confidence and success.

Most importantly, values of kindness and inclusivity are instilled into our students. We encourage pupils to work hard, embrace opportunities and grow into confident, compassionate and well-rounded individuals who make a positive contribution to the school and the wider world.

Why Families Choose Hydesville

We are proud to be a non-selective school. Children join us with different talents, interests and starting points, but all benefit from the same high expectations, individual support and breadth of opportunity. Small class sizes, specialist teaching and exceptional pastoral care mean that every pupil is encouraged to grow in confidence, make excellent progress and become the very best version of themselves.

Academic Challenge

As a non-selective school, our success comes not from selecting pupils by ability, but from knowing every child well, setting high expectations and providing the individual support and challenge they need to succeed. Our expert teachers inspire curiosity, encourage ambition and ensure every pupil is stretched to reach their full potential, whatever their starting point.

Our pupils leave us with outstanding results, from Early Years outcomes exceeding the national average by 10%, Key Stage 2 outcomes exceeding national averages by over 20% to GCSE results nearly 10% higher than national results, alongside the confidence, resilience and genuine love of learning needed to thrive beyond the classroom.

Individualised Attention

Children thrive when they are known and valued as individuals. Small class sizes and strong staff-pupil relationships allow us to provide personalised support and challenge, helping every child grow in confidence and achieve their potential.

From the earliest years through to Senior School, our caring teachers and pastoral staff take the time to understand each pupil’s strengths, interests and aspirations, ensuring they receive the guidance, encouragement and opportunities they need to flourish.

Character Development

Character development is at the heart of school life, and every child is encouraged to build confidence, resilience and self-belief through experiences both inside and outside the classroom, including leadership opportunities such as prefect roles, mentoring younger pupils and contributing through student voice.

Through strong pastoral care, a values-led approach and a wide range of opportunities, pupils develop the independence, responsibility and character needed to thrive. We believe success is measured not only by what pupils achieve, but by the people they become.

Opportunities For All

Every child deserves the opportunity to discover what they are capable of. Our varied co-curricular programme encourages pupils to explore interests beyond the classroom, with opportunities in sport, music, drama, clubs, outdoor learning and community activities.

From climbing and karate to LAMDA and Formula 1, pupils are encouraged to try new experiences, uncover hidden talents and build confidence. Our inclusive approach ensures every child can take part, discover new passions and benefit from the wider life of the school.

My child is taken care of, my opinion and input matters to them, and I think school provides a good bridge between home and school.
