Excellent Academics

Hydesville Tower Senior School is ranked 9th in the UK and holds the prestigious position of the best in the West Midlands according to the Daily Telegraph’s GCSE league tables for small independent schools.

Holistic Approach

Emotional wellbeing is just as important as academic achievement and we want our pupils to be confident, compassionate and capable young people. We believe it’s crucial to develop a child’s character through teaching transferable skills that will help them to thrive in the future.

Solid Values

We have a strong family ethos, and instil a sense of great pride in our school community. We look after, support and encourage each other to always be our best.

My child is taken care of, my opinion and input matters to them, and I think school provides a good bridge between home and school.

Meet our Headteacher

Welcome to Hydesville Tower School; it is my privilege to be the Headteacher of such an exciting place of learning. As parents and carers, we all want the very best for our children. It is crucial that they are encouraged to fulfil their academic potential; but of equal importance is their preparation for the everchanging world beyond education, a world presenting both challenges and opportunities.

Here at Hydesville Tower School, we are a happy community in which everyone can do and be their best. We pride ourselves on providing a breath-taking array of opportunities, not only within our traditional academic curriculum but also throughout our extensive extra-curricular and enrichment programmes.

🍂 Year 1 had an exciting outdoor adventure in the arboretum, exploring the early signs of autumn! 🌳 During their autumnal walk, they asked, "are all leaves the same?" and discovered they’re not! Through leaf rubbings and careful observations with microscopes, they even matched some leaves to their corresponding trees.

Such a fun and educational day amongst nature!

🌟 Global Be Well Day is one of our favourite days of the year! 🌟

This special day on the Cognita Schools' calendar reminds us to practice kindness, gratitude, and thoughtfulness, boosting our mental well-being.

The theme for this year was giving, with both staff and pupils dedicating their time to supporting the community. Over the summer, our pupils took on various challenges to give back, showcasing their incredible spirit.

A huge thank you to Mrs Dhadda and Mrs Taylor for co-ordinating the day, to our fantastic catering team, Chartwells, for organising delicious food, and to all the pupils for their outstanding efforts! 💙

🎶 We had the pleasure of attending the Piano Spotlight concert this week, a fantastic new event showcasing the incredible talent of young pianists in Walsall! 🎹

Organised by Walsall Music Education Service in collaboration with the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, we were proud to see two of our current pupils and one former pupil (from last year) selected to perform. Each played to an exceptional standard and received wonderful feedback from Daniel Browell, Associate Head of Keyboard at the Conservatoire.

Hydesville’s Head of Music, Mrs Wilson, said: “I’m incredibly proud of all three students! Well done to everyone involved!”
