Welcome to Hydesville Tower School; it is my privilege to be the Headteacher of such an exciting place of learning. As parents and carers, we all want the very best for our children. It is crucial that they are encouraged to fulfil their academic potential; but of equal importance is their preparation for the everchanging world beyond education, a world presenting both challenges and opportunities.
Here at Hydesville Tower School, we are a happy community in which everyone can do and be their best. Hydesville Tower School was ranked in top 25 on The Times Parent Power League Tables for 2025. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and to have had the exceptional work of our pupils and staff recognised in such a prestigious publication.
We were placed in the ‘Top fee paying schools with no sixth form’ category. Only the top 1,600 schools across the country feature in the guide, which was compiled based on examination results - a huge accolade for us at Hydesville.

🎄 Christmas Jumper Day Fun! 🎄
Our whole school was full of festive cheer yesterday as everyone—from our tiniest nursery pupils right up to Year 11 (staff included!)—joined in Christmas Jumper Day.
Warm winter woollies were everywhere, ranging from traditional knitted favourites to sparkly, embellished cardigans. We spotted reindeers, penguins, and plenty of colourful patterns that brightened up the day!

Our Year 4s visited Aldridge Church Centre for the amazing multi-sensory trail “Christmas Through the Keyhole” — and it was truly something special! 🌟
They peeked through keyholes, explored different characters’ homes, and uncovered clues that brought the Nativity story to life in the most fun and memorable way. 🐑🏠👀

Last Friday was an action-packed science spectacular for Year 8 and Year 9! 🦕✨
Our adventure kicked off at the Natural History Museum, where pupils met animatronic dinosaurs and stood beneath the iconic blue whale soaring over Hintze Hall. They took on the earthquake simulator, explored roaring volcanoes, and came face-to-face with dodoes, mammoths and the wonders of evolution. The journey into the Earth’s crust (via that epic escalator!) was a definite highlight. 🌋🌍
Then it was off to the Science Museum for a 3D trip to the NASA Space Station, followed by hands-on chaos and curiosity in Wonderlab. Year 8 even managed to create their own lightning in the electricity zone — proper Frankenstein vibes! ⚡🧪
