Hydesville has produced a Travel Options booklet which details all the services available to families.
Please contact the School Office for a copy of the brochure. The options available to our families are as follows:
We currently operate four bus services to bring pupils safely and promptly to and from school. Parents who use the service are able to avoid rush hour congestion. The routes are regularly reviewed and new stops added to meet the needs of our families.
- Cost: £325 per term return journey, £172 per term single journey
- Sibling and short journey discount available
- CCTV in all buses
- Professional and fully trained drivers (DBS checked)

Alternative Parking & Transport Options
In addition to the school mini-bus service we offer a number of parking and transfer options, which are detailed as follows:
Our FREE walking bus – a group of children who walk to school together, accompanied by adults – follows a scenic route from Arboretum Road through Walsall Arboretum and into the playground. The walking bus is available to children in Nursery and Prep School. The journey takes little more than five minutes. School staff lead the bus every morning at 8.38 am from the Arboretum gate at the end of Arboretum Road and leaves school at the end of the day at 3.50 pm for parents to pick up their children at 4.00 pm. A register is taken to monitor attendance in order to safeguard pupils. Supervising staff, pupils (and parents who wish to walk with the bus) enter and exit school via our private pathway between the Arboretum and playground. Contact the school office to register your child. This service is free of charge.
Lower Rushall Street Park & Stride/Park & Ride
Families are invited to make use of our satellite car park off Lower Rushall Street. We have 30 car parking spaces available (FREE permits are available, please contact the School direct). Families can then either choose to walk the (approx) 7 minute journey to school or use a FREE shuttle bus service we provide at the beginning and end of the day. Due to space restrictions the bus is only able to transport pupils. This service is available for pupils from Nursery to Year 11 (inclusive).
Arboretum extension Park & Ride
In addition to the Lower Rushall Street car park, parents are encouraged to use the public car park in the Arboretum extension and use a FREE shuttle bus service we provide at the beginning and end of the day. Due to space restrictions the bus is only able to transport pupils. This service is available for pupils from Reception to Year 11 (inclusive).
Park & Stride
We actively encourage families to use the FREE parking spaces in Arboretum Road and Buchanon Road when dropping off and collecting their children. Both locations are within a short walk of school.
For those older children who wish to cycle to school we do offer secure cycle storage on the school grounds, with access from the Arboretum gate or Broadway North.

Advisory – Good Neighbours
We appreciate that, like most schools, the area surrounding our site can become very busy during the school run. We are ever grateful to our neighbours for their patience and support and politely request that parents always consider our neighbours when parking.
Advisory – Red Route
The school is located on a main road and parents are advised not to stop on the clearly designated red route.
Son in Year 2
We recently moved house and were delighted Hydesville revised the route of the school minibus to accommodate my son’s journey, enabling him to continue his very well-rounded education.
