We understand the importance of providing a healthy, balanced diet to pupils – we appreciate the impact this can have on concentration in class, progress and ultimately levels of attainment.
Catering Manager Gareth Long leads an experienced team to provide predominantly homemade sweet and savoury dishes that enable pupils to refuel and rejuvenate between lessons. School lunch is prepared and cooked daily in our well-equipped kitchen using fresh ingredients to create nutritional, wholesome and tasty meals.
Our lunch menu operates on a three week rolling programme and, as you would expect, offers a wide range of hot and cold dishes, including a vegetarian option, soup of the day served with homemade fresh bread, a well-stocked salad bar and variety of traditional main meals and speciality cuisine.
Having fed many hundreds of children over the years we also know that young diners have to be tempted by the look, smell and texture of food as well as taste so presentation, gentle encouragement to try something new and education about different types of food are part and parcel of the process.
In addition to lunch we run a pay-as-you-go daily breakfast club in the dining room, which is open to all pupils and their parents too. Breakfast and tea is included in the Nursery fees for our youngest children and these meals are served in Nursery setting.
