Hydesville Admission Process

The admissions process is simple and transparent and outlined in brief below. We do not have a catchment area and we welcome children of mixed abilities and many talents. We are non-selective.

You will be guided every step of the way by our experienced Admissions Manager, Mrs Christine Phillips. Children are welcome to join us at any time during the school year and into any year group, subject to a place being available. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Phillips on 01922 624374 or complete the short enquiry form to the right and we shall be in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

Step 1

Contact

Contact us for an initial conversation about your child and to check availability in the relevant year group. We will also be able to send you a prospectus or you can request a prospectus online.

Step 2

Visit and Assessment - to include registration

Arrange a visit to school for a guided tour by the Head of Nursery, Head of Prep or Head of Senior School, depending on your child’s age. Meet the Headmaster, see the school in session and experience the atmosphere.

Your child will also spend half a day (Reception – Year 6) or a full day (Year 7 upwards) with us during which time we assess their behaviour and ability, providing feedback to you thereafter.

Nursery children are not required to spend time with us for an assessment.  We will make an offer of a place once prospective families have visited us.

At this time you will also be asked to complete a registration form and pay a £40 registration fee.

Step 3

Offer

Subject to a positive visit, we make a time-limited formal offer of a place for your child to join us.

Step 4

Completion

You accept (or decline) the offer, completing the necessary paperwork supplied to you in order to secure your child’s admission. Pay a deposit of £500, refunded to you when your child leaves the school.
