Thank you for your interest in our school.
Our admissions process is simple, transparent and outlined in brief below. We do not have a catchment area and we welcome children of mixed abilities and many talents. We are non-selective.
You will be guided every step of the way by our experienced Admissions Manager, Mrs Christine Phillips. Children are welcome to join us at any time during the school year and into any year group, subject to a place being available. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Phillips on 01922 624374, email email@example.com or complete the short enquiry form to the right and we shall be in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.
Contact us for an initial conversation about your child and to check availability in the relevant year group.
We will be able to email you an interactive document for you to find out more about Hydesville Tower School, which includes our current prospectus and virtual tours as well as details about our current admissions process, fees and much more.
Your application - to include registration
Following an initial conversation with our Admissions Team – and once you have confirmed you would like to begin an application – we will ask you to send us a copy of your child’s most recent school report. At this time, you will also be asked to complete a registration form and pay a £50 registration fee.
We will contact your child’s current school to request a standard reference. Once received this will be reviewed with your child’s report by the relevant Head of School.
We will schedule a Taster Day so that your child can experience a day at Hydesville:
- For entry to our Prep School the taster day may include a written assessment.
- For entry to our Senior School: at the Head of Senior School’s discretion, your child may be invited to complete written assessment papers ahead of their Taster Day; this is always the case for entry to Year 10 or Year 11.
Following this, our Head of Prep School / Head of Senior School will be pleased to give you a tour and you will also have the chance to ask any further questions and find out more about our educational offering.
- For entry to our Prep School your tour is likely to be at the end of your child’s Taster Day.
- For entry to our Senior School your tour will be approximately 2-3 days after your child’s Taster Day and we would encourage your child to accompany you as the Head of Senior School will be keen to speak to your child and get to know them. If your child is unable to attend the tour, the Head of Senior School may request to meet with your child at a different date via Microsoft Teams for an informal interview.
Subject to a positive completion of the steps above, we will make a time-limited formal offer of a place for your child to join us.
If your application is for a Year 7 place in September 2022, based on your child’s Taster Day, we may invite them to attend an Academic Scholarship Assessment Day (Stage 1). Following Stage 1 you may receive an offer for a Standard place or be invited to attend the Academic Scholarship Assessment process (Stage 2) in March 2022. Families might also be interested in our Non-Academic Scholarships. Further details are on this page: https://www.hydesville.com/admissions-fees/scholarships-bursaries/
You accept the offer, completing the necessary paperwork supplied to secure your child’s admission. Pay a deposit of £500 to secure the place; this will be refunded to you when your child leaves the school.
If you accept your child’s place, we will stay in touch to ensure a safe and smooth transition for you and your child. We look forward to welcoming you to the Hydesville family.
