World Mental Health Day 2018

Pupils’ mental health is very important to us as a school and throughout the year we spend a lot of time supporting our children through school life and in particular helping them through the stresses and challenges of growing up. This week we held a number of events to mark World Mental Health Day. Seniors did some mindfulness colouring as part of their Art lessons and we held a lunchtime meditation session. PSHE lessons explored the effect of stress on the body and discussed positive ways to handle stress and Year 9 have created posters on ‘looking after our mental health’. In Prep, Class 5C led a wonderful assembly on ‘the huge bag of worries’ where they talked about how a ‘problem shared is a problem halved.’
