Supporting Stop Food Waste Day

Pupils and staff across the school showed their support for the fight against food waste as part of Stop Food Waste Day earlier this week.

Following a Prep School assembly which shared the ideas from the Eco-Committee, pupils were encouraged to select their food carefully and talk to the lunch staff about the size of portion they would like.

Members of the Eco-Committee made a pledge to inspire others to waste less and monitored how much food was being wasted.

The campaign was also supported by Mr Long and the Chartwells catering team.  Mr Long is pleased to report that our food waste has decreased over the week. Yesterday, we calculated 20kg less waste than previous days.
