Safer Internet Day 2017

Pupils from across the Prep and Senior Schools have been showing their support for Safer Internet Day 2017 with a range of activities including quizzes, debates and poster competitions.

This year’s theme is ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’ with a focus on ‘The Power of Image’ and Form 6 led on an assembly for the Senior School that explored the issues of staying safe online, which included a selfie role play, which discussed whether selfie’s should go on public or private setting, and whether a selfie can make you Instafamous.

Pupils also watched a video which looked at how important the power of an image is, not just for now but for future employment.  There was lots of advice from Form 6 on how to be safe online, but how to also enjoy the internet.

We’ve also been sharing smart tips to stay safe online and creating tweets for the school Twitter page and creating Memes that display E-Safety advice.  PSHE classes are also dedicating all lessons this week on E-Safety and will be creating footprints with E-Safety advice and Emoji’s and will be displaying them around the school.   Miss Bunger created the E-Safety School display, using this year’s theme, ‘The Power of Image’ as a main focus.
