Together, we can stop bullying and foster safe environments for children and young people to live, grow, play, and learn. Cognita Schools is dedicated to eradicating bullying in our schools, collaborating as an associate member of the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA). ABA, housed at the renowned National Children’s Bureau in London, is a coalition committed to stopping bullying and serves as the national voice for evidence-based practices in this field. We participate in anti-bullying week every November, coordinating efforts to address this issue comprehensively.

As part of our commitment, we access specialist training for all our schools, emphasizing respect for differences and welcoming diversity. Our schools' anti-bullying policies align with the values of ABA, firmly asserting that any form of bullying is wrong and should not be tolerated. Recognizing bullying as a behaviour choice, we believe that individuals can be encouraged to change their behaviour. Our fundamental belief is that children have the right to feel safe, secure, and valued, and we emphasize that creating a safe environment and addressing bullying is a shared responsibility.

To actively tackle and prevent bullying, we implement a range of positive strategies in our schools. We consistently challenge the use of negative approaches such as humiliation, fear, and ridicule. Our comprehensive anti-bullying policy is enacted whenever the school is responsible for the conduct and welfare of children. Leveraging our success as schools, we proactively create an ethos of good behaviour, ensuring that pupils treat each other and school staff with respect, as they understand it is the right way to behave.
