Opening doors at Hydesville
Hydesville Tower School and Nursery in Walsall is opening its doors to prospective pupils at an all school open morning.
On Saturday 24th September from 10am until 12 noon, the Open Morning will give would-be pupils – aged 3-16 – and their parents the chance to find out more about the school, its excellent facilities, and the outstanding achievements of its pupils.
A number of exciting developments have taken place at the Broadway North school during the summer holiday, including a £200,000 summer estates programme that has transformed the school’s outdoor facilities.
The ambitious programme involved a complete makeover to the school’s current Nursery and Lower Prep School playgrounds – now offering brightly coloured play areas, complete with games markings. There is also a new 500m2 multi-use sports pitch built on the main school playground.
A new school mini-bus service covering a wider geographical area has also been launched, so that current and prospective pupils from further afield can now travel to Hydesville more easily.
Headmaster Andrew McGinnes, said: “Hydesville has been resurgent in the last three years. Our reputation is growing day by day, and the leadership team is committed to continuously improving the already excellent provision. The recent inspection report and the 2016 GCSE results demonstrate the fact that Hydesville is flourishing.
“People are surprised to find that our Nursery School is similarly priced to local day nurseries, yet we can ensure that children get a head start to their education. Our Prep School offers comprehensive 11 Plus preparation and our Senior School is regularly ranked by the Department for Education as the one of the best performing non-selective secondary schools in the borough.
“I urge families to come along and see for themselves what we can offer their child.”
All areas of the school will be opening their doors on September 24th, from Nursery through to the Senior School, and visitors are set to be impressed with an array of presentations, activities and demonstrations. Headmaster Andrew McGinnes will give a talk, before current pupils take visitors on tours of the school. There will also be the opportunity to meet Senior School staff and pupils.
