Whilst the enforced closure of schools due to COVID-19 has taken away the usual joy of our daily existence at Hydesville, we remain totally committed to the education of our children. We do not believe that we can afford to let our children standstill given the uncertainty of the duration of the lockdown, and hence our resolve to use the online teaching platforms to maintain their progress and learning. The physical site may be closed but our educators are working as hard as ever to ensure excellence for your children.
We know that nothing can replace actually being in school, and being taught and cared for in person, but we hope that, through our Online Teaching and Learning Programme, our children will continue to love learning and be challenged.
We are currently in such unusual and unprecedented times, and we appreciate that this can be extremely unsettling for our children. As well as prioritising their physical health whilst we remain at home, we also need to be looking after their mental health and wellbeing, keeping a sense of normality and daily routine.
The coming weeks will undoubtedly contain many new challenges, but we are sure that, by working together as a school community, our children will have structure, as well as the time to be creative and pursue more open-ended activities, maintaining a happy balance between academic work and play.
As always, I am hugely grateful to the staff who are so committed to the children, and to you for your support and best wishes during such a difficult time. I know that when we emerge from this, we will be even stronger as a community and family.
With kindest regards
