Modern Foreign Languages celebrated in evening showcase

Talented senior school pupils from Hydesville Tower School entertained a packed hall of teachers, parents and Hydesville families at Monday’s Dance, Drama and Music Showcase.

Led by the Modern Foreign Languages department, the event celebrated the national European Day of Languages, to raise awareness of the importance of lifelong language learning for everyone.

Hydesville’s showcase included a number of dance and music pieces either performed in a foreign language or with a European twist. Highlights included Mishael Ahmed’s rendition of One Last Time in Spanish, Eve Sheldon’s beautiful flute solo and the senior boys performing MOKOBE – J’ai trop dansé.

Guests were also treated to tapas style refreshments and who can forget our ‘Spanish’ compere, Juan (aka Mr Walker!).

A big thank you to our Young Enterprise team who sold refreshments, and thanks also to all parents for their support.
