ISA Art success for Hydesville
Congratulations to Shivam in Year 4 and Amarah in Year 10 who have scooped prizes in the prestigious Independent Schools Association (ISA) art competition.
Shivam won second prize for his beautiful parasol design in the KS2 fashion accessory category in the Midlands regional competition. Amarah was the 3D Art Individual Key Stage 3 winner for her sculpture entitled ‘warrior’ which she created during a workshop last year led by local artist Julie Edwards. Judges were so impressed with Amarah’s submission that she was put forward for the national awards and we are delighted to announce that she won!
Mr Honey said: “We are very proud of Shivam and Amarah and indeed all of our pupils who entered such a high standard of art pieces into this competition. It is fantastic to see our pupils shine amongst hundreds of other children at independent schools across the country.
“This success proves that art really does matter at Hydesville. It starts with the inspiration for the younger years and, at the end, the vision and talent to win a National competition.”
