Duke of Edinburgh Trip – September 2016

Six year 11 pupils took part in their final expedition for the DofE Bronze award.  The group travelled up to the White Peaks in the Peak District on the Friday morning, they were dropped off at the picturesque village of Ilam, set with the task of reaching their campsite near Butterton before night fall. They met their challenge with a few hours to spare which left them time to set up camp and cook dinner.

The following morning they were up bright and early to dismantle their camp and set off for Hartington.  They completed that really easily even when they were chased by a herd of bulls!

All of the participants completed the expedition to the satisfaction of their assessor (Mr Turner) and now need to finish off their other sections to successfully complete their Bronze Award.
