Reception children benefit from hearing & vision tests

The wellbeing of our pupils is integral to life at Hydesville. We want to do all that we can to ensure that everyone in our school community is thriving not only socially and emotionally but also physically.

As part of this aim, this week we have offered all Reception children a hearing and vision test, carried out by a Cognita Consultant nurse. The tests are simple and made child friendly by inviting each child to play the ‘Looking’ and ‘Listening’ game.

While most children will be fine, we will be able to identify any potential issues at an early stage to ensure the right support and resources are swiftly put into place. This is key in maintaining the confidence of our young students as well as their overall enjoyment of learning.
