Celebrating World Book Day

School has been full of colour and invention today as children have come to school dressed as their favourite book characters to celebrate World Book Day. From Disney characters to aliens and pirates, everyone (event the teachers) have got into the spirit to support the day.
Aside from dressing up, children have been taking part in a number of activities in their classes. Prep children received a World Book Day voucher which can be exchanged in many bookshops for a book from the chosen authors this year and Senior pupils took part in a ‘Stop the Clock’ reading event where they spent 55 minutes enjoying the pleasure of undisturbed reading.
A big thank you to parents for supporting the event and helping the School with our continued drive to enhance the Literacy experiences and help develop a love of reading for all our pupils.
