AS Success at 15

Congratulations to an exceptionally talented young man who has achieved grade A in AS-level mathematics two years ahead of time.

Extremely well done to Alex, aged 15, who has achieved straight As in the first three component exams. He will complete the second half of the course to attain an A-level this coming academic year and is on track for the top grade.

Alex, who begins Year 11 in September, joined Hydesville as a maths scholar just 12 months ago, at the start of Year 10.

During the course of last year he received individual tuition from Headmaster Andrew McGinnes, himself a graduate mathematician, for his early A-level studies.

Mr McGinnes said: “To complete three modules in Year 10 so successfully is an achievement only the very, very brightest can go for – congratulations, Alex.”

Miss Nijjar, Deputy Head and Head of Senior School, added: “Not only is it a huge pleasure and source of pride for us to see Alex achieve these excellent results but it has been wonderful to see how well he has settled into school life here at Hydesville and really flourish.”

Alex, who already also has A* grades in GCSE Latin and GCSE mathematics, has ambitions to study physics at Cambridge.
