School History
Hydesville has served the West Midlands for more than 50 years, setting high standards of excellence in education for children in the 3 to 16 age groups. For many years we have been known as "the family school" and not just because there are so many brothers and sisters here. There is a warmth and bustle of activity at Hydesville, as in any large family; we all have our differing interests and activities but we share a very structured classroom day and a common ethos.
Class sizes are limited in number so that each child is known as an individual with unique needs and talents. We aim to develop those talents and to meet the needs of children who are of average or above average ability.
The school consists of three separately staffed and located sections. The Nursery and Infant department and the Junior and Senior sections occupy the same site in Walsall backing on to the famous Arboretum which provides an oasis of green in a largely urban setting.
