Exam Results
2011 GCSEs - 97% pass rate, the highest in the School's history.
Our 2011 GCSE pupils celebrated a 97% pass rate, (5 or more A* to Cs). These results herald Hydesville as the highest performing co-ed school in the area. 89% of these GCSE pupils scored A* to C including English and Maths.
As a non-selective school, this strong performance continued with 100% of pupils achieving an A* to C in English and also across nine other subjects including Geography, History, RS and Art.
Five of our Year 9 pupils celebrated 100% passes in their Maths GCSE. These children were identified as demonstrating high ability in this subject and took the examination two years early.
The community at Hydesville is delighted with these very impressive results. They are a statement to our focus on the very best teaching and pastoral care. These results are the reward for hard work, enthusiasm, perseverance and quite simply a love of learning. As well as to our pupils, credit should go to our parents who provided support and encouragement, and to the staff who cajoled and inspired.
But we are not complacent. It is not for the sake of improving statistics; it is with the aim of changing lives. Our eyes are on tough and challenging targets for the summer of 2012.
